Case Study
Our client is a well established investment counsel firm with two income
pools run internally and used within the discretionary accounts sold
directly to retail investors. This asset management firm had an existing
sales team and was looking to increase the assets managed in its pooled
funds.
Steepe & Company helped transform this very successful and tightly
run organization into a firm geared to work with third-party investment
advisors including fee-based brokers, family offices, investment counselors
and institutions. To accomplish this, Steepe & Company directed and
executed a strategic plan that involved:
• creating new marketing material and website
• developing an F Class structure and other products
• conducting research to determine appropriate class structure
• acquiring compliance approval for fund distribution
• coordinating efforts with legal markets, compliance, service providers
and in-house administrators
The client was unfamiliar with costs and processes involved to convert
an internal pool into an acceptable fund supported by Fundserv and made
